Deaf Poetry Project
Artists worked with the deaf community to develop short stories using visually expressive sign language, poetry and movement including Indian-classical dance style of Bharatanatyam.
The stories map the complexities of the lived realities of the participants in this project, drawing on memory, imagination and creative resilience. The narratives bear witness to the extraordinary lives of each and every subject, captivating us with stories of struggle, hope and resistance.
